Grateful, Tithe, Stress Reliever, and Money
One of the biggest problems I have is with being grateful. I've struggled with it since day one. I'm constantly gripey; I'm constantly trying to find something better than what I've got now.
There's nothing wrong with setting goals, achieving them, and setting new ones. The problem I run into is when I begin to always never reach a certain goal to be satisfied. Sure, it gives me a moment of satisfaction knowing that I accomplished that ( why do you think I make so many flippin' to do lists just so I can mark stuff off and feel productive every day?) but there's no stopping when you are ungrateful.
Tithe is determined as the ten percent of your 'increase' or earnings in a week that you give back to God because without Him, we have nothing anyway. It's a small price to pay for the numerous tips that I've received just by being blessed by God. If it's so small, then why do I feel like I'm being so generous every time I put that small donation back into an envelope and give it to the ushers at church? Tithe is only a small percentage, and yet, most people I know don't do it nor think about it twice but wonder why they can't succeed in their job. We are not called to disobey God's law or His commandments, and that very clearly is one of them.
Numbers 18:26 "26 Speak to the Levites and say to them: ‘When you receive from the Israelites the tithe I give you as your inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as the LORD’s offering."
And then, Matthew 6:21 "21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." This verse highlights the fact that wherever we put our main fortune, that is where we will love and serve from. If we put money over God, our heart will follow the money every time. But here's the thing. You can't take these earthly possessions up with you when you die, so what good is all of that accumulated wealth?
Do yourself a favor and give your tithe to your church. Your money goes to the church, and that's where you heart will follow. When you seek the Lord and all His commandments with your whole heart, He will take care of you and bless you beyond belief. Your treasure will be great in heaven.
How's that for a stress reliever?
